Frugal Tip: Fire your Assistant - Part II
![]() |
It would be nice if I had my own personal assistant. Someone to run my errands and do my bidding. But until I can justify that kind of expense, I am grateful for online tools like HeyCosmo. Like Sandy, HeyCosmo will help to replace some of the functionality of a real live assistant. By signing up for a free account, You will no longer have to go through the Yellow Pages, and call business after business, to get your questions answered. Now, all you have to do is have HeyCosmo Concierge contact businesses in your area, and ask the questions for you. For example, if you need a to make a restaurant reservation, and you want to know if your chosen venue can seat your party of three, Concierge will call each restaurant you have selected, and post the results after the call(s) is completed. You can also have the results sent your email. I’ve tried it, and it works!
Frugal Tip: Swap your cell phone plan for a Sugar Mama
![]() |
I’ve been searching for what seems like forever, for a free cell phone plan paid for by advertising (like our friends across the pond have with Blyk). Apparently, we don’t have a service quite as innovative as that. So, until someone with enough foresight can launch a Blyk equivalent in the States,Virgin Mobile’s Sugar Mama plan is as close as we’re going to get to free service.
Frugal Tip: Get Rid of Cable, Watch your Fave shows on the net
![]() |
Getting rid of your cable bill is probably not what AT&T meant when they slapped this billboard up, but if you have high speed internet, there really is no need to keep throwing extra cash away on cable. I’ve been without cable now (by choice) for six months. And as an avid TV watcher for years, I don’t miss it one bit. Come to think about it, I never really had all that much time to watch what I was paying for.

Are you sick of paying a high cell phone bill? Are you sick of your cell phone, period? What if I told you it also comes with free activation, and a fifty dollar rebate (per phone)? If you want 1250 anytime minutes, the plan costs $50 bucks.
No More Monthly Phone Bill - I Have Free Unlimited Calling!

This may come as a shock to some of you, but it’s possible to eliminate your phone bill - forever. A couple of months ago, I was searching for some new ways to save on my monthly costs, and I found a device that promised to save me hundreds of dollars a year on my phone bill, if not eliminate it all together. I was naturally skeptical at first, but after doing some homework, I decided to give it a try.
Free Laptop Optical Mouse (with Google Checkout)
Buy.com is selling a Targus Optical mouse for laptops, regularly priced at $39, for $10.00 with free shipping. If you use Google Checkout for the first time, you’ll get a $10 instant credit, bringing your total to $0.00. Trust me this works. I used this method last week to "buy" a 1 GB micro SD card (which came with a mini SD and SD card adapters, and micro SD card reader), and it came on Saturday. When I went back to check if they had anymore, they were sold out, and the price was hiked back up to the original price! If this is something you’ve been holding out to buy, now is the time to get it free, while supplies last.
