Free Swag on Fashion's Night Out in L.A. (updated links)

If you live in Los Angeles, do not fret. As I've mentioned before, Fashion's Night Out will not be leaving L.A. out in the cold. All you frugal fashionistas, get ready for L.A.'s own version of Fashion Week's plethora of complimentary events and swag. If you plan accordingly, you may be able to attend all locations (more after the jump).

  • Rock and Republic: 6pm-11pm.103 S Robertson Blvd. The Robertson Boulevard boutique will be offering complete access to complimentary beauty makeovers, exclusive product launches, giveaways and music (courtesy of a guest DJ). For those frugalistas trying to get in the biz, you'll have a chance to meet CEO and Creative Director, Michael Ball.
  • Ron Herman & Fred Segal: 7-11 pm. 8100 Melrose Avenue. Special appearances by designers and artists. Chan Luu, Rory Beca, the duo Michelle Wenke and Megan George (of L.A. fashion line, Monrow), and Sophia Coloma and Marissa Ribisi (Whitley Kros designers) are among several that will be showcasing their talents through collections and demonstrations (i.e., how to distress your own jeans, perfecting the oversized T-shirt ensemble). Complimentary cocktails will be provided by Skinny Water and Asahi Beer. Musical appetites will be whetted by William Tell and Toddy Ivy. Click here, for more details.
  • Neiman Marcus:  Several L.A. locations will be lavishing customers with complimentary food, desserts, beverages, runway shows, trunk shows, special gifts with purchase, possible beauty samples, and music (there will be  a jazz band at the Beverly Hills location).  40 locations across the U.S. are participating in this global event. Check your local Neiman Marcus for specifics on date, time, and events, or click here (click "store locations & events" on the bottom right hand corner).

Some tips and ideas for L.A. FNO attendees:

  • Although the listing of events is not as comprehensive as New York's FNO list, you can supplement your day by starting early. Browse my site for mall beauty samples currently being offered (these are frequently updated), and call around to your favorite stores, boutiques, designers, and restaurants, and see who might be participating. You can even throw a party of your own, using some ideas I mention, here.  Feel free to use your fabulous imagination.

For my New York readers:

  • Check out Racked NY's Top Ten List of Fashion's Night Out Freebies. They put together a list of the top 10 most valuable freebies of the night, including free jewelry, perfume, yoga classes, swag bags, and more.  To see what else is being offered, check out the official site, here.
  • Also, on September 12th, New York Couture is hosting their official Fashion Week Show and Party, for free.  You get free admission with invitation or RSVP.  First 100, get a free swag bag.  For details, click here.
